SQUASH. Our club has been chosen to host the qualifying matches for the British Grand Prix, the richest squash tournament in Britain in 2010. The matches will take place on Sunday 12th and Monday 13th September and will include 24 of the top 100 squash players from 12 different countries. Entry for spectators is free and matches begin at 12 noon on the Sunday and 5:30 pm on the Monday. 16 matches on Sunday and 8 on Monday. Bar open from 12 noon on Sunday. All of the 16 seeds are in the top 80 players in the world. More details and the full entry list is in the News section.
Entry forms for the tennis veterans tournamnet to be held in mid September are available from the shop, office or by downloading one from the link in the tennis section.
The September Squash challenge starts tis week. See the ladder on the notice board opposite the shop for details.
The final for the squash doubles tournament was played on Thursday 19th August and resulted in a 15-14 win in the fifth game for the number one seeds Darren Lewis and Paul Seymour over the spirited pairing of Courtney Downing and Gary Westwood. Earlier, Gale Kerrison and Kate Fuller took the plate title for the 3rd successive year.
Details of the Autumn term tennis coaching programme are now available through the office or shop or via the tennis section of this site. Summer holiday camps begin in a weeks time.
