Here is the latest of the WLTSC articles that has been seen in the Wolverhampton West Magazine, this one for the September/October edition.

We may be heading into the Autumn months, and sadly the summer sunshine will soon be a distant memory, but that’s not to say that life at Wolverhampton Lawn Tennis Club shows any signs of slowing down.

The programme of sporting and social activities at the popular Newbridge-based venue are in full flow all year around, and there is much to look forward to over the coming months.

In the world of squash, WLTSC is delighted to be hosting one of the regional Masters events from September 21-23, with over 100 entries expected from the Over-35 competitions to the Over-75s.

There is also a new Head of Squash and Racketball now in position, with a warm welcome to

Chris Dawson, a Level 3 coach, who will be looking to develop and improve WLTSC’s offering in both sports.

This already includes delivering weekly hours of coaching to the students at Tettenhall College, and also being a regular venue for the RAF’s squash training, with another camp booked in for October.

New squash and tennis links are also currently being forged with the University of Wolverhampton, and there have also been exciting developments in the area of fitness at WLTSC, with significant improvements to the Strength and Conditioning area, known as ‘The Pit’.

The previous area has been doubled in size and decked out with new equipment which will help both elite athletes prepare for competition and club members benefit from an even better level of personal training.

Members will benefit from the training techniques used by professional athletes and celebrities to reach their goals.

“As ever we are keen at WLTSC to continue to develop and improve our extensive sporting programme, as well as remaining a really friendly and social, community club,” says Operations Manager Marc Hughes.

“We would love to welcome potential new members to come and have a look at what we can offer – please give us a call or pop into reception and say hello!”
