A warm welcome is guaranteed at a popular Sunday morning squash session with youngsters encouraged to give the sport a try.
Wolverhampton Lawn Tennis & Squash Club runs a ‘Junior 101 squash’ session from 10am-11.30am every Sunday, offering young players and their families the chance to enjoy squash, racketball and other fun-based court activities.
Coaches including Simon Newell lead the sessions which are open to non-members as well as members and have proved very popular since launching at the start of the year.
“One of the greatest attributes of WLTSC is that it offers a warm and welcoming environment to get healthy, play sport and make friends,” says Neil Patel, Chairman of Squash and Racketball.
“We have a thriving squash and racketball facility that inspires all ages from five to over 70, catering for all abilities.
“These squash sessions have become a key part of what the club offers, with parents and juniors coming together to play as a family, and seeing young talent nurtured and encouraged.”
Everyone is welcome – just head for the squash courts at 10am on Sundays via the Fire Door to the right of the side entrance to the building.
Junior 101 squash is free for members and £2.50 for non-members. Equipment is provided but players are asked to wear non-marking footwear.
All coaches are DBS checked and have child safeguarding certificates, as well as qualifications from Squash England.
There is a quick registration process for a first visit and then it is easy to sign in for future visits afterwards.
