The Karakal Midlands Squash Masters is coming to Wolverhampton Lawn Tennis & Squash Club (WLTSC) on 4th-6th November and players are being encouraged to enter now.
Following the success of squash at the Commonwealth Games (CWG) where team England won 5 medals and itโs first women’s singles Gold, WLTSC are hosting another prestigious squash competition – A Regional Squash Masters event.

The importance of personal wellbeing was discussed, not only coming from playing squash &, racketball, tennis; working out in the gym or taking part in one of the numerous gym/spin classes on offer at WLTSC, but also from the social benefits of the community of like-minded people coming together, often making life-long friendships. A huge congratulations to everyone who has participated in our first half term squash camp! There was a great turn out, many fun activities and every individual has made superb progress. it was a brilliant experience for us all!
Also a massive well done to the coaches: Michael Harris, Tom Pryor and Tanita Patel, who made this event as amazing as it was.
WOW what an experience I had at Birmingham 2022. Iโd never been to a multi-sport event and to be a part of it has totally blown me away.
I had so much fun, inspiring, and entertaining so many young people, families, and squash fans. I truly hope the work I and the Squash United team, along with my wife AKA Mrs Squash did, and will continue to do, will eventually show in increased participation at clubs and sports centres and most importantly here at WLTSC.

WLTSC opens its doors to children to stoke excitement ahead of Commonwealth Games. Last summer, a year before the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, organisers announced that they wanted to give one million children an authentic Games experience.
On Friday, the Wolverhampton Lawn Tennis and Squash Club fulfilled that dream and opened its doors to schools and members of the local community to get them involved in six sports which will take pride of place at the Games.
Children from seven schools got the run of the club until 2pm, where they got to try out squash, boxing, wrestling, wheelchair basketball, table tennis, and archery.
WOW what a month weโve had at WLTSC. Juniors from our club, local schools and squash players from far and wide, have been the main focus this month. They have given us joy & laughter and pride at their keenness and dedication to trying something new, developing their skills and representing our club and themselves.
Mike Harris, from Squash United and Wolverhampton Lawn Tennis & Squash Club (WLTSC), takes squash to the people in one of a series of events to promote the racquet sport in the lead up to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Long standing member of the club, John Vaughan passed away a number of years ago. He wanted to leave a lasting legacy so his family very kindly donated some money to create our John Vaughan SEND and Jnr Development Fund.
Since then we have had many donations and a special post covid fundraising event in June 2021 raised an additional ยฃ5,000. As of 8th November 2021, the John Vaughan SEND & Jnr Development Fund amounts to ยฃ7,778.53.

Squash players from across the country gathered at Wolverhampton Lawn Tennis & Squash Club (WLTSC) last weekend to take part in a masters competition.

The tournament ran for three days, with the finals across a variety of age groups on Sunday, November 6.
The event comes after the success of team England on the international stage at the Commonwealth Games, where they won five medals, and now WLTSC hosted this regional tournament to give players from different backgrounds the opportunity to play competitive squash.
The age categories ranged between 35-75 for men and 30-60 for women.
Helen Tottey, director of squash and racketball at WLTSC, said the competition was a ‘great success and added that the standard of the play was ‘very competitive’.
She said: “We were really pleased to host such a prestigious event at WLTSC.
“It was a great success with very competitive squash games.
“There were 190 entrants, and 15 of our own members enjoyed playing in the competition, and many more enjoyed watching on.
“Our aim is to help promote the benefits of squash from all levels and this event showed how competitive squash can be enjoyed up to 70+ years.
“We were really pleased to have both of our squash coaches reach their respective age category finals.
“Darren Lewis won the over 40s category 3-0 and Mike Harris, unfortunately, lost 2-3 in the over 50s, but it was a great game.”
